Burnt Weiners Episode 082 Daredevil – Fevre Dream – Monster Zoo

We have a new theme song! We have a loud air conditioner! We have COMICS! Some that kick some skull, others that hack and slash their way to making them the warlord of mars! We promised to never do that kind of show notes, but it could not be avoided.

*Editor’s Note – Sorry for the noise at parts of the episode . . . no, not our voices, the air conditioner that would not die!

Burnt Weiners Episode 054 Heroes For Hire #1

Misty Knight is getting the band back together . . . and the Weiners all try out for the bass spot! Talking about a book they had been looking to for some time (well, since they read about it on the internet box and/or Previews), will everyone want to hire or fire these heroes? Check it out!

Weed, John and Bo all gush a bit about how much they love their monthly dose of Secret Six (DC), before Weed goes on to tell us about his feelings of the wrap up on Shadowland (Marvel), the fun of Warriors Three (Marvel) and how he is dismissing the latest Buffy stories from Darkhorse from his perception of the series. Steege tells of his pitch invasion into the tabletop world of Bloodbowl and how he hates his local internet provider!

Bo swings in to talk about Amazing Spider-Man (Marvel), and his anticpation of how awesome C2E2 2011 could be and some of the guests announced. John recommends Supergod (Avatar Press) from Warren Ellis and touches upon Walking Dead on AMC.

Burnt Weiners Episode 050 Superboy #1

Our 50th Episode! Please email us about ordering the chrome, foil, 3-D, prismatic, sketch, convention exclusive, mail in, signed, numbered, bagged and wraparound edition of the podcast!

Superboy is back in Smallville, kicking it in a new title written by Jeff Lemire and drawn by Pier Gallo, and the Weiners are checking it out (from afar, with binoculars).

Weed checks out Brightest Day (DC Comics), I Zombie (Vertigo), Buffy (Dark Horse), and Warriors Three (Marvel), before premiering his new segment: Weed’s Stash!

Brad checks out an older Teen Titans trade, while Steege had a good time at the local nerdfest known as D-Frag. A couple of the Weiners checked out the new Walking Dead series on AMC.

John has an awesome week of comics and laments a bit about the last issue of Unknown Soldier (Vertigo), Scarlet (Icon), Serenity: A Shepard’s Tale (Dark Horse) and the new hardcover collection of The Coffin (IDW).

Bo checks out a Star Wars book that he grabbed from Weed before he talks about Secret Six (DC) and Crossed (Avatar Press), which leads to a bit more Crossed talk.

Weed also talks about a comic called Vision Machine #1, which is available here:

Misery Bear: Dawn of the Ted (AKA Don’t Forget about Walking Dead on AMC tonight!)

This is not only awesome by it’ own right (because honestly, it is downright genuis), but it also serves as a great reminder that you love zombies and that you should watch WALKING DEAD on AMC tonight. I’m telling ya folks . . . prepare to be shuffled, errr, I mean blown away!

Also, it seems Sears did an awesome Zombie Themed section of their site (the videos are a nice touch, and the brains in the fridges):

SERIOUSLY! DO NOT FORGET TO WATCH THE WALKING DEAD!

Walking Dead Trailer (SDCC)

Check it out fast, it might just go missing soon with all the studios and Youtube cracking down on this . . . but this one has been on awhile . . . strange, maybe AMC is being smart about the whole thing and realizes that this will be the best exposure they can get! The show seems like it is going to be a good adaptation, things are changed, which should keep it fresh, but it seems to also remain true to the formula for the most part (at least in this short clip). And the little girl zombie is creeeeeeeeeeeepy!

OMG OMG WALKING DEAD OMG

Not quite sure what he means by, “We hope to do for zombies what Mad Men has done for advertising.”  umm… okay… How about you just make a badass TV show based on a wicked-awesome graphic novel? That’s all anyone really wants.

Thanks to THE KING OF THE ZOMBIES for this one! (article direct link)
