Wolverine and Jubilee #1, really? Really? R U 4 REALZ? I remember the good old days (episodes 1-58) where you would cover quality comics, books that had moxie, gumption, and spunk! Titles with quirk (like Daytripper and The Infinite Vaction), Boobs & Bastiches (like Power Girl and Lobo), or the sickest shit I’ve ever seen but was still somewhat aroused by (anything from Avatar Press.) Take a look at yourself now, you’ve been reduced to covering everyone’s favorite Marvel-whore dressed in yellow and Jubilee. Here are the facts: 1) We get enough of Logan in every book under the sun that we don’t need yet another title with him in it or it to be publicized. 2) No one cares about Jubilee. She is an un-interesting, mallrat in a short skirt and a loooooooooooong jacket that makes Snooki (from John’s favorite tv show The Jersey Shore) appear to have personality. 3) There are a lot better books to cover, for instance that Cyclops comic from Archaia (it was sweet of them to name a comic after me) or the one-shot I have coming out in March about my early days. If you continue down the line of programing from episode 59, I will be forced to ban anyone on Utopia from listening to such garbage and instead take that time to regal them with tales of how I single handily saved an entire race from extinction and oppression, kind of like MLK JR. but I looked better while doing it. So as long as you don’t keep this shit up, make mine slit-throat sloppy pie till the end of time.

Ello’ Weiners! So I just got back home from hours and hours of NY Comicon 2010. This was the first time I’d ever been to a comic book convention before, but I know it will not be mt last. I went to the event alone because everyone else is a boner and an asshole. Now when I walked into the con, I was immediately intimidated by the hoards of people in costumes and just the total amount of people that where in attendance. As I first walked in there are many people in front on the Micheal Jackson DDR game, Then I turned to my left and BOOM zombie stuff, whew! I’m in a safe place now.

As I walked over to the ad for the new Red Dead Revolver “UNDEAD NIGHTMARE” There was a big line stretching around the booth, “I’ll come back to this, later”. As I started to just walk around and check out the major booths like Dark Horse, Marvel, and DC it was very obvious that they had the bucks to get away with giving everyone free shit and had the big artists around, (which is cool and all, but too crowded) but when I started to check out smaller booth like “ComX” and “1821 Comics” They seemed to be more interested in getting just anyone to read there books, which was mostly limited release stuff. Picked up a couple of what I think are going to be good “finds” which are “CLASSWAR” , “[fourty-five]” and “WARLOARDS: BROTHERHOOD” haven’t obviously finished reading both of them yet but I like so far.

Alright So…I took a break after a few hours and had a mediocre $4.00 hotdog and got pissed about it, later. (so, so pissed) Walked around and looked to shit to buy after that, I really didn’t end up getting much but that’s mainly because I’m poor. With one hour left in on Con, I went by the AMC Walking Dead booth again and a cool surprise the cast for the highly anticipated show was there signing books. Now since they don’t really have any type of artistic input on the books I decided not to get a book for them to sign, but I thought about it.

A few minutes later I saw this girl I went out on a date with one time like 4 or 5 months ago over by the booth dressed up so I left quickly because I didn’t want to talk to her. (do you blame me?) As I fled and had about 5 minutes left until closing time at 5PM SHARP! (The convention people didn’t like you after 5PM, sharp!) I ran across a booth that I noticed all the books had “DONATION” written on then. I got curious and started chatting with a really polite really nice lady whom, I don’t think we ever exchanged names, (I wanted to interview her and record it, but she wasn’t allowed to) She was from a organization called “C.B.L.D.F.” Which stands for Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. And what they do is try and fight the censorship and promoted the first amendment for the right to show graphic nudity and violence in comic books. I could have not agreed more with her.

She started telling me a story about a man who own a comic shop in Georgia and on free comic day he had held on to a few of the comics to give to trick or treaters in his shop for Halloween later in the year. Apparently one of the books he hadn’t really looked through contained a few frames of Picasso painting in the nude (as she said was historically accurate) a few young boys got this comic on the Halloween and the mother of the boy who had got the book saw it and went ballistic. That mother went to her brother which was a member of the local sheriffs dept and he arrested the comic shop owner for giving pornographic material to a minor. The CBLDF went to the comic owners aid and finally a few months back after 4 years of battling the charges they were thrown out. Just one story that she had told me, but she said that comic being as popular as they have become in the past 10 years are in danger of being over censored. All in all a great time. can’t wait till the next con I go to, when/where ever it is.

How many “though are” lines can they cram into one book? The Weiners hope to find out. Catching up with the new creative team of Matt Fraction and Pascal Ferry’s Thor, the guys check out a comic that they are not really familiair with. Will they enjoy this trip into the unknown?

Bo finds he likes chainmail bikinis more than just wearing them and checks out Queen Sonja, decides he likes Daken much more than his old man Logan with Dark Wolverine, and checks out the penultimate issue for 1 Month 2 Live.

Weeddecides that if he has to come in here one more time he is gonna bust some skulls and checks out Skullkickers! He then moves over to Marvel to check out some Shadowland tie-ins for Moon Knight and Daughters of the Shadow. Then a spooky, haunted tank and it’s commander give him a good fright in GI Combat.

John laments about the Wildstorm closing news, and gets even fatter on bon bons.
