New Theme Song

Bo is currently putting the finishing touches on our new theme song, which I might add, is pretty badass! Bo is a hell of a musician, especially on the guitar, and is not afraid to do something a bit “innovative” and trailer trashy to get something done. This past week he was recording the drums, and this was too good to not show everyone!

What he is using is a digital drum pad, which is small, compact and delivers great sound. Not being a drummer full time, he was unable to play the bass drum part with his hand, and knew he had to use a kick pedal to pull it off. The only problem . . . he didn’t have a digital kick pedal. So he does the next best thing: duct tapes a digital input to a milk crate, jams it up against the desk and rigs the standard drum kick pedal up to smack the milk crate! GENIUS!

Roll a D6!

Okay, I know, blogs start turning cheesy when all they start adding is video links . . . but damn’t, I think I get an exception this week! This is also the most accurate portrayal of the gamers life I have ever seen since the movie “Orcs In Da Hood” hit is big in 1997

Beaneath The Surface – Battle of the Bands

Beneath The Surface, a metal band that means a lot to us (and in which Bo is the bassist in) has been entered into a battle of the bands deal against the devil for their very souls. Click the link above, register quickly and give a vote to BENEATH THE SURFACE!

Also, I lied, none of the guys have souls, they just want to beat the devil since the devil is dating their ex-girlfriend . . .

Adam Warrock – Nerdcore Rapper

So, need an awesome fix for hip hop that will combine your love of phat beats and comic treats? Look no further than the insanely talented and hellaciously awesome Adam Warlock! Didn’t think someone could rap about Matt Fraction’s Five Fist Of Science:

And he has a whole album that is all sorts of awesome-sauce! Click the above link to be taken to the Amazon Website where you can buy the MP3′s. There are tracks to sample, I highly suggest “Absolute Truth” and “Up & Adam” which are two of my personal favorites.

An those tracks not enough for you? Warrock also puts up tons of great tracks not available on his album for free on his website (see link above) . . . you see that part where I mentioned they were FREE TRACKS! I highly suggest “No Capes” which is all about Superman.

Okay, enough talking, go check out all that stuff!

Girl Talk’s All Day Samples Website

All Day Samples” breaks down all the samples used in Girl Talk’s latest in real-time as each song plays.

From the Website:

“Girl Talk” is the stage name of Gregg Gillis, a Pittsburgh musician who creates mashups of pop songs. The 2010 Girl Talk album, “All Day”, samples several hundred songs, and Wikipedia users have identified and cataloged most of them. Using that data, I created the player below so you can see what samples are playing as you listen to the album. Enjoy. If you like this, see my site for the previous album, Feed The Animals.

This site is possible because Girl Talk released the album under a Creative Commons license, which allows fans to share and remix it.

For all of you enjoying Girl Talk’s new album ALL DAY, this is a great website and tool in progress that shows the artists and songs being sampled at each moment int he song as it streams the album for you. Great way to find where your favorite bits are from.

Also, for everyone who doesn’t know who Girl Talk is, he is a DJ who, in my very humble opinion, is one of the best mashup artists I have ever heard.

Seth Green Vs. Katy Perry – “Geek and Gamer Girls”

I am one of the few rare, socially crippled people who has not heard Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” (although I’m sure it’s a masterwork of songwriting) — and even if the parody singer’s voice is not exactly pitch-perfect, and even if Katy Perry is undeniably smokin’ hot — I am willing to bet cash moneys that this parody video from Seth Green and Break.com is at least 37.88% better than the original.
