Well here we are , I know I missed last week and that’s mostly because I live in Minnesota and basically in Minnesota from now until may you are either sick, getting sick, getting over sick. Going to mix it up a little this week I’ve got one you have to read and then I am going to highlight some Arcana comics books that you should be trying.
Out 10/3
Danger Club #4 $2.99

Back after a small hiatus, and I am way to excited for this book. It might end up being the only book I buy this week. I’ve gone on and on for months so you should already be convinced. This issue appears to start answering some questions and also there is some new tensions amongst the groups so I think the cover says it all.
Arcana Comics

So first if you remember I got this book because the premise sounded cool, and it was written by Casey Jones. Yes I am that nerd. The way these Aracana books work is they are full trades that are also releasing as single issues to try out . I bought them as a singles which I think for these books works well it’s nice to have a break between.
The premise here is a 13 year old girl starts receiving all of the superheroes powers after they lose all their powers. The book focuses on the girl (Sophie ) dealing with her new powers, and the rest dealing without powers. The surprising part for me is the art in this book is pretty brutal. It spends a good deal of time dealing with heroes losing powers while using them leading to sometimes gruesome results.
It goes from a superhero book to dark almost gritty pretty quick. It reminds me a lot of the violence in Danger Club which is a good thing. If you are looking for a different powers book this should be it.
Becoming $1.99 p/issue

I’ve already talked about issue one and two is out now . It’s hard to talk about this book and not be spoilery but basically a college student feels he’s wasting his time and wants to learn about real things. Well he gets what he asks for and it’s not good . After issue two I’m not going to say I know what’s going on yet but I’m hooked. This is a really dense read and be prepared for that but has good pay off with pretty good albeit different artwork.
Philosopher Rex $5.99 (full trade)
Written by: Jason Miller, Ian Miller

I have to admit I don’t know what this book is about even after the first issue. It’s about a group of supernatural guardians that protect the world. That’s really all I got even though it’s confusing it’s a fun read and you should give it a try.
That’s all for this week I hope you give some of these books a try and broaden your comic horizons. Remember to stalk us on twitter me @lunchbox700, and our illustrious soiled pants leader @burntweiners
