This is one of those weeks where I go in one Wednesday and think to myself I am not going to have anything to writeup next week this sucks. Then all of a sudden by Monday I am like shit I can’t decide what the pick of the week is . This weeks pick might be a bit of a surprise if you’ve been with me for awhile but alas I say F it’s my story I’ll do what I want.
Out 9/05
Hawkeye #2 $2.99

This is not a big week on Comixology , but I think this would have been my pick anyways. The number one of this book was so great and unexpected I got in to this book because it was a number one and people were talking , but had no expectations. Man I was wrong I have no idea where this book is going and I’m good with that. I mean honestly I’m married so I’m used to not being in control so there is that. Here is the preview verbatim “What you need to know: Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Cars, Guns, Stealing from the rich never looked so good” The balls to make that your preview I love it.
Road To OZ #1 $3.99

I am not picking this book up due to budget constraints , but I loved Dorothy of Oz prequel and until Finding Gossamyr it was the best all ages books out there. This book is about Dorothy’s journey back to OZ and it seems like it’ll be good again. I may pick this up in trade but it is an 8 issue run so that make me sad I’ll have to wait that long.
Pick of the week 8/29
Uncanny X-Force #30 $3.99

I struggled with this for a day or two this book can’t possibly be my pick I mean come on it’s a an X book, it has Daken, I mean come on you get this book for free . Pick something independent something people don’t know about.
Well this won it because the story and the art stuck with me, and usually the criteria for my pick is what I am thinking about a few days later. This book was that this week. It’s hard to explain if you haven’t been reading but basically Daken has started another Evil Brotherhood and they have kidnapped Evan to try to show him whats wrong with Wolverine, and the school. They go on this weird and really dark road trip to try to “educate” him.
As I mentioned this is a little darker than I was expecting , but I listen to the Burnt Weiners podcast so it’s not that dark. The art is very cool and the story is a little predictable but very good and I am glad I am reading this book and I believe after AvX finally releases me from it’s terrible hold this and Ultimate X will be the books that stay with me.
Quick Hits
Sixth Gun #24 $3.99

Here is the deal I bought this book because it was a starting point, the Pulllist Podcast boys have been telling me for years to buy it, and of course Cullen Bunn as you know I want to have his babies apparently.
Ultimate Comics X-Men #15 $3.99

Ugh what the fuck is happening to me I am turning in to a Marvel Zombie. Soon I’m going to be mispronouncing creators names and buying multiple copies of books I already own. Shit, I just realized I already have done that. That’s it I got to stop I am super depressed now just read this book to it’s a fun X book, and guest stars Nick Fury.
That is it for the week, it’s a light week next week so expect me to prattle on about Cursed Pirate Girl because I picked up volume 1 on sale last week and I will soon be sucked in like the Weiners.
Follow the pod on Twitter @Burntweiners, and me @Lunchbox700 where I talk a lot about nerdy things and on occasion make fun of my editor’s poopy pants.
