The whole experience went really well (minus the gal having a rough go with getting her work done before me), and the place is a kickass, chilled environment to go get some ink embedded into your skin.
Firstup we have Bo, who is a man who likes Skulls. Correction: that dude fucking loves his skulls! Not skull fucking, just skulls . . . and fucking . . . two separate things. His piece is not finished as it is very large and will require a few sessions to be completed. The guy making this skull look so badass is Warren Stratford. We should also let you know Bo is not drunk in this picture, that is just how he looks. Bo already has several tattoos and wanted something to make sure he was never hired to run an ice cream truck or daycare.
Next up we have my (John) leg above, and further below I am passed out on the table while getting some work done (kidding). This was my first tattoo, and I should have been a bit nervous, but with so many people I know who have already done it, I had little to no concern about the pain or the upkeep afterwards. I do think I disappointed several people who expected me to be a complete puss and seemed bored when I just joked and was fine with the whole thing. The worst part was my decision to skip the shaving ritual and remove all the hair on my leg with duct tape with the help of a few gals working at the shop. They seemed to enjoy that torture session. The man lovingly inflicting bodily harm on my calf is Adam Oxley. Just off to the right of the photo out of view is about 25 comics hung up on the wall, as Adam has been a long time comic book fan and seemed pretty stoked to work on the Blue Beetle tattoo I had wanted. Adam also took the idea I had brought into him a bit farther as I told him to spruce it up to his liking and he added a few elements and a few slight changes to really make it pop. I am really thrilled with how it turned out (I do need a small bit of touch up work done, but I was expecting that before hand because of the amount of coverage). Now, just need to find that right spot for the Punisher tattoo . . .

IT IS ADVENTURE TIME! In a surprise twist, John doesn’t cry at the end of Punisher Max, and in a bigger surprise twist, Bo gets addicted to black tar heroin and misses his son’s big football game! Blue Estate Issue #9I think the Star Wars nerds are gonna love the treatment of the cover of Blue Estate #9 (will be in shops this Wednesday). Great story that I am loving, and always delivering on spectacular covers.
