Goodbye, Oracle

Phil Noto (with an awesome edit by INSANE ORANGE on Plurk to add some of Noto’s text written about her at the bottom) did a wonderful tribute to Barbara Gordon after news of her being removed from her position of Oracle back to Batgirl, regaining the use of her legs and losing a few years of age. I know I am gonna miss her . . .

Weed’s “Strange Times” copy

Eric, better known as Weed to our listeners, is usually the most observant of our group. That is why we thought it was funny when he lent Bo & me his copy of Accent UK’s Strange Times and when we remarked on how cool it was for Dave West to do some killer sketches in the front of the book . . . and he replied “what, he did sketches?”

Seems Eric was a bit anxious to getting into re-reading the printed web comic that he skipped the inside cover ;)

New Theme Song

Bo is currently putting the finishing touches on our new theme song, which I might add, is pretty badass! Bo is a hell of a musician, especially on the guitar, and is not afraid to do something a bit “innovative” and trailer trashy to get something done. This past week he was recording the drums, and this was too good to not show everyone!

What he is using is a digital drum pad, which is small, compact and delivers great sound. Not being a drummer full time, he was unable to play the bass drum part with his hand, and knew he had to use a kick pedal to pull it off. The only problem . . . he didn’t have a digital kick pedal. So he does the next best thing: duct tapes a digital input to a milk crate, jams it up against the desk and rigs the standard drum kick pedal up to smack the milk crate! GENIUS!

Accent UK – “My Maker & I” Preview over at TPB

Head on over to Tales from the Parents Basement to check out the new book from Accent UK, set for release later this year! You will find a 6 page preview and an intriguing reveal of what you might find inside of the book.

Accent UK continually knocks it out of the park, so this will be on my pre-order list, no hesitation. While DC will be revamping their universe, Accent UK will create a whole new one. Can’t wait!
