Score Rush (Signed-In Commentary)

On occasion, you see us post an Indie X-Box 360 game that you can download from the market place on X-Box Live, and here is another one that is well worth your money. Score Rush is a shoot em up for a solo player or multiple friends that is quite frenzied . . . DOWNRIGHT CHAOTIC AND INSANE is actually closer to the truth.

Coming in from Xona games for 80 Ms Point ($1), you simply cannot go wrong with a game you can pick up and have a blast (no pun intended) with 5-10 minutes at a time, especially one that plays as awesome as this. I have been playing it the past couple nights, and only have scored as high as 20 million points, but it keeps me coming back.

The video above shows some some of the terrific gameplay footage with audio commentary overtop it from the guys over at Signed In Podcast, which if you have an X-Box 360 and not listening to this podcast, you are missing out on some funny and informed discussions on a wide variety of games. You can find the link below in this post and on the right on our quick links.

Score Rush ( http://scorerush.com/ ) is a 4-player shoot ‘em up. Features overwhelming firepower, trailing options, full screen bombs, tons of enemies, with an intimidating final boss and hundreds of crazy bullet patterns to survive. The 60 fps adrenaline-rush experience is complemented by a hard-rocking Dragon Music Productions ( http://dragonasmusic.com/ ) soundtrack. Designed by Xona Games “empower the player” philosophy.

[podcast]http://traffic.libsyn.com/burntweiners/Burnt_Weiners_Episode_055_Whatever_Happened_To_The_Worlds_Fastest_Man.mp3[/podcast]

What would you do if you could step out of time and had to save thousands upon thousands of people from a bomb? The Weiners take a look at Whatever Happened To The World’s Fastest Man from Accent UK, which takes a look at that very question. And here is a spoiler . . . WE LOVE THIS COMIC!

Weed checks out Spike #3 (IDW) and then leers for far too long at Lady Mechanika #1 (Aspen). Then moving onto Weed’s Stash, he fondly recollects his time with a choose your own adventure book.

Gronch in hand, Bo is excited about picking up the Orc Stain TPB (Image), and disgrees with John’s love of Thunder Agents #2 (DC) and First Wave #5 (DC). Also a few web comic updates are chit chatted about.

Thor and Jane Foster take John on a magical rainbow ride in THOR THE MIGHTY AVENGER TPB (Marvel), before he talks about Justice League Generation Lost #15 (DC) and DCU Holiday Special 2010 #1 (DC).

Bo ends the show with a bit of Crossed talk and sings us a little song from the book!

Misty Knight is getting the band back together . . . and the Weiners all try out for the bass spot! Talking about a book they had been looking to for some time (well, since they read about it on the internet box and/or Previews), will everyone want to hire or fire these heroes? Check it out!

Weed, John and Bo all gush a bit about how much they love their monthly dose of Secret Six (DC), before Weed goes on to tell us about his feelings of the wrap up on Shadowland (Marvel), the fun of Warriors Three (Marvel) and how he is dismissing the latest Buffy stories from Darkhorse from his perception of the series. Steege tells of his pitch invasion into the tabletop world of Bloodbowl and how he hates his local internet provider!

Bo swings in to talk about Amazing Spider-Man (Marvel), and his anticpation of how awesome C2E2 2011 could be and some of the guests announced. John recommends Supergod (Avatar Press) from Warren Ellis and touches upon Walking Dead on AMC.

Adam Warrock – Nerdcore Rapper

So, need an awesome fix for hip hop that will combine your love of phat beats and comic treats? Look no further than the insanely talented and hellaciously awesome Adam Warlock! Didn’t think someone could rap about Matt Fraction’s Five Fist Of Science:

Adam WarRock: Five Fists of Science at Chapel Hill Comics November 13, 2010 from Andrew Neal on Vimeo.

And he has a whole album that is all sorts of awesome-sauce! Click the above link to be taken to the Amazon Website where you can buy the MP3′s. There are tracks to sample, I highly suggest “Absolute Truth” and “Up & Adam” which are two of my personal favorites.

An those tracks not enough for you? Warrock also puts up tons of great tracks not available on his album for free on his website (see link above) . . . you see that part where I mentioned they were FREE TRACKS! I highly suggest “No Capes” which is all about Superman.

Okay, enough talking, go check out all that stuff!

“Binary Domain” Teaser Trailer

A new upcoming game for PS3 and X-Box 360, “Binary Domain” gave our man Weed a very “Rifts” feeling (The Palladium role playing game). It looks like it has a strong theme of apocalypse and mech units . . . but will it maybe have magic as well? Although, if it did have that element, you think they would use it in the promotion of the game, so I am gonna have to guess it doesn’t. Wish it would have showed some gameplay, but this has for now put the game on my radar. Looks interesting!
