Burnt Weiners Episode 015 Guardians Of The Galaxy #23

February 23rd, 2010 by John

Guardians of the Galaxy has been making John and Weed have to cross their legs in trying to hide their nerd boners, will the newest issue make Bo and Steege also have to try and conceal some excitement? The Weiners talk about Bo starting to read more and more comics monthly, Tick #2, Deadpool, Star Trek, Paranoia Agent, Tails of the Pet Avengers, and Colt Noble and the Megalords (think He-Man parody that is actually hilarious)! Steege tells everyone a little bit about the new D&D system and books, and the Weiners wrap the show up with a dirty joke from Weed! Stay tune for the next episode when Weed will be newly minted as a Bostonian and we find out if he pillages and razes the whole entire city to the ground in his first few hours there!

The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom (XBLA)

February 18th, 2010 by John

Soooooo, if you have a X-Box I suggest picking up this game. It has a very similar feel to many flash games you might have played already, but with a very glossy sheen and hilarious, silly and downright lovable “story” to it. 800 points ($10) will net you this gem:

And if you want to try a flash game that shares some of the same gameplay elements and is very charming in it’s own way, then I suggest checking out The Company of Myself. Click the image below to play the game. Also check out some more of the games at jayisgames.com as there are some real gems to be found there!

David Lapham On Writing Crossed Volume 2: Family Values

February 17th, 2010 by John

Crossed Volume is a favorite among Bo and John of Burntweiners, and Bleeding Cool News Just announced that David Lapham (Stray Bullets, Young Liars) will be doing the second volume . . . OH HELL YES! Click the photo to be taken to a small article by David Lapham about him taking over the series.

Also, more people should go with this burnt cross on the face look, it tends to go very well with Fall colors . . .
Please forget I said that!

Marvel Comics’ depiction of anti-tax protesters inspires anger, apology

February 13th, 2010 by John

So this has been floating around for awhile now, and I think it is hilarious the amount of attention it is getting. It is on the news channels and if you click the photo below, it will take you to the Yahoo story on it.

A group that shares it’s name with a group of individual who place their testicles in other people’s mouth really needs to lighten up. And why isn’t Marvel apologizing to all the Nazi’s for the terrible way they portray them?

Burnt Weiners Episode 013 The Question #37

February 9th, 2010 by John

The Weiners invite Steege and Travis to join them once again to talk about one of the DC one-shots that tie into the Blackest Night, The Question #37. All the guys decide to try and talk over each other way too much as they touch upon some other comics and Star Trek. A little bit about video games are brought up, and Travis even forces everyone to make Superbowl predictions even thought most of the Weiners don’t even know who is in the Superbowl. Enjoy the looooooong show!

Burnt Weiners Episode 012 Captain America Reborn #6

February 3rd, 2010 by John

Please forgive the crew for a little bit (and in some areas a lot) of echo throughout the episode, it was a bit of a technical glitch that comes from all the time travel we do. The guys are joined by Travis to talk abotu Captain America Reborn #6(of 5)! Weed and John try to get everyone into Guardians of the Galaxy. The X-Universe is touched upon, but then a lot of talk about Sleeper, The Engineer and Green Lantern. Then the Burnt Weiners prove to everyone that anybody can sound stupid when trying to give an example of irony. And make sure you stay tuned after the ending song to find out the nasty little trick the guys pulled on Weed!
